OFFICIAL RELEASE CIMA D’ASTA SKIALP 2023

Departure for TRANSFER from Camping Val Malene to Malga Tolvà – 6.15 am

The SENIOR AND MASTER route provides for an initial transfer of 2.6 km +200m from the Val Malene campsite to the 1335m of Prà dela Regola by minibus, followed by a 1.5 km +213m walk up to Malga Tolvà where at 8.00 a.m. given the START.

  • 1st ascent +1150m: initially on foot (0.5km with skis on the backpack +100m) then uphill with inversions, at 2200m on foot with crampons (+100m) then skis on up to La Banca 2700m.
  • 1st descent -270m: towards the Brentari refuge (refreshment area) and shortly after a change of set-up on the lake of Cima d’Asta 2430m where there is a time gate: 2h30′ from the start.
  • 2nd ascent +417m: along the track towards Cima d’Asta 2847m, on gully and ridge with RAMPONI (+217m). In the presence of fixed ropes it is MANDATORY to insure yourself with a VIA FERRATA KIT.
  • 2nd descent -467m: towards Laste dei Fiori 2380m.
  • 3rd ascent +300m: along the last stretch on foot (+50m with RAMPONI) up to Forzeleta 2680m.
  • 3rd descent -415m: towards Busa 2265m (attention crossroads signaled by staff).
  • 4th ascent +165m: on the trail towards Bocchetta dei Sassi 2430m.
  • 4th descent -880m: initial stretch on foot -20m with skis in hand then descent to Malga Tolvà 1550m where the finish line is (last 0.5 km on foot with skis on the backpack -100m).

Total height difference 4064m: D+2032m and D-2032m development 20km max time 5 HOURS.

  • In the change of attitude it is mandatory to place the sticks on the ground.
  • Dangerous spots are marked with yellow/black flags and tape. Scrupulously follow the green flags uphill, red downhill, yellow on foot. Those who withdraw must notify the organization staff and remove the bibs.
  • From the finish area Ponte Tolvà 1550m return independently to the Camping Val Malene 1150m (4km -420m).
  • Meal vouchers must be delivered to the sports hall in Pieve Tesino at lunchtime from 12.30 onwards.
  • MATERIALS: complete equipment as per FISI regulations with the addition of CRAMPONS, HARNESS and VIA FERRATA KIT.
